Cooking Dropped Scones

This week, in the Ocean we made dropped scones. We read the recipe, made sure we had all the right equipment and ingredients then began measuring. We needed to read the recipe carefully as sometimes we needed a teaspoon and sometimes we needed a tablespoon.

First we weighed the flour. We watched carefully until the display said the number 8. Then we shouted stop!

We made sure we had the right spoons to add the next few ingedients. We cracked an egg and beat it with a fork before adding it to our dry ingredients.

We then used a whisk to mix in some milk.

Once all the ingredients had been combined we watched the mixture as it rested for a few minutes. We could see bubbles coming to the top of the bowl.

Once our pan was hot, we brushed it with oil and spooned our mixture on. We watched as more bubbles began to appear as our dropped scones cooked.

Our scones were ready to eat! They tasted delicious.

We even made so many we took them around to our friends and teachers to share. Yum Yum!
