In the desert this week we are investigating animas.
We were sorting animals into those that live in the air, on the land or in water.
We found that some animals were hard to place such as hippos, penguins, ostrich and crabs!
We have also been looking at information texts in the reading corner. We found out some interesting animal facts.
Did you know dormice hibernate so they don't eat for half a year! Also, did you know that crocodiles can live in water and on the land.
One of the children found this picture and told me " do you know some people eat scorpion when they sick!"
We have also been playing a lotto game sorting animals by where they live on the farm, in the sea or in the wild.
We have been exploring small world animals too.
On the smart board we were using 2simplecity to learn about a vets, a zoo and a farm.
In the role play corner we are running a pet shop. We have been writing shopping lists and animal information sheets.
We were also lucky enough to have a visit from puggles the hamster! Unfortunately he was a bit sleepy so we had to be very patient in order to get a glimpse.
