Someone phone 112……..our visit from Police officers.

A few weeks ago our children expressed an interest in the Police so Ms Jana organised a visit from 3 Police Officers today with their police van and motorbike.

It was SO exciting!

We all gathered outside the school…

Ms Jana introduced the Police Officers.

We had lots of questions for them.

"How many cars do you have" Noemi
"How many baddies did you catch?" Casper
"How many boats do you have?" Oliver
"What time do you go back to the police office?" Bella
"Do you have something to trap burglars hands?" Gus
"How long, stays a burglar in jail?" Teodoro

They showed us the things they carry on their belts…

…handcuffs….

Walkie Talkies…

The motorbike helmet had a walkie talkie inside it!

We even spoke into it.

The Officers showed us where they keep their guns but they stayed safely inside their holders.

They also showed us some pepper spray. We wondered if it was for their dinner but they told us it was a different kind of pepper they can spray into someones eyes to make it hard for them to see for a short while.

We got to have a closer look at the motorbike.

We asked about all the buttons and switches.

It had a special light on the back that they use when they want a car to stop.

It also had a little screen at the front with funny writing on it…. STOP written backwards.
This is so drivers can read it the right way around in their mirrors.
Maybe you could try looking at your name written back to front in a mirror and see how it looks.

Inside the back of the Police van there were all sorts of things to look at.

We got to try on the special bullet proof vest. It was quite heavy but it felt a bit like being a superhero!

"This is seriously heavy".... Freya

The Police officers showed us a little teddy bear they keep in their van. They give these to little children that have had an accident or are feeling frightened to help them feel a bit better.

We also got to hold a very heavy rammer.
This is used if the police need to get into a locked building quickly.

We got to sit inside the van too.

When we heard the siren, it was so loud we had to cover our ears!

Some of us were brave enough to sit on top of the motorbike, even though it was very high up!

What an amazing morning.
