On a cold and crisp April morning, the Puffins and Leopards set off to Jumbo with their hard earned cash (from Footsteps for Food contributions). We walked to the shopping centre where we split off into groups of four children and an adult/s. Armed with a trolley/basket and a scanner, the children set off to conduct their own version of 'Supermarket Sweep'. Their brief was to buy non-perishable goods such as tins of fruit and vegetables, pasta, rice, oil, long life milk etc to send to the food bank. We tried to encourage healthy choices and banned all sweets and chocolate from the list. I think the children and parents did a great job and we collected a sizeable collection for the food bank. Here are some photos from today. Thank you to all our helpers!
