When it's someone's birthdays we sing "The earth goes round the sun, the earth goes round the sun, one more year goes by and Jerry turns one, two, three, four etc" The birthday boy/girl walks round the sun until we reach their age. They then get to blow out a candle and we sing the traditional Happy Birthday song in English and Dutch!
Mums and Dads - we go outside in ALL WEATHER, rain, hail or snow - and it's so much fun!
We've even made edible clocks - yum!
We've been sequencing our day using picture cards....
We've been acting out the story of Mrs Wishy Washy.... "Oh lovely mud" say the animals as they jump, roll and paddle in it, but Mrs. Wishy Washy has other ideas!
In the Knowledge and Understanding room the children have been 'milking' Daisy. The technique required to milk a rubber glove is remarkably like that of milking a real cow and the children have loved having a go. Some have been relating it to their own experience on farms and we've met some real pros!
Ms.Nathalie has been promoting the power of yoga in the Physical room and throughout the week children have been dropping in to learn some new moves like 'the giraffe' and 'the crocodile'!
In the Knowledge and Understanding room the children have been amazed by our milk experiment. Milk, drops of ink and some washing up liquid on the end of a chop stick is required. When the washing up liquid hits the tray the colours literally dance. Melinda described it as "Like a dream or something" as she watched the colours swirl together.
We've also been excavating dinosaur fossils......
Another fun filled week wouldn't you say!
